A Year of Building Screen Content: A Calendar for Property Managers
A month-by-month plan for what to show on condo lobby and elevator screens, so the content stays fresh without becoming a second job.
The fastest way for a building screen to become wallpaper is to show the same five slides for a year. The second fastest is for a busy manager to try to create something new every day. A simple annual calendar avoids both.
Evergreen content (always in rotation)
Keep a small background set that's always available:
- Management office hours and how to reach the front desk
- Amenity hours
- Three to five key rules, rotated weekly
- Recycling and garbage room guidance
- How to book the service elevator
Then layer seasonal and time-sensitive content on top.
Month by month (Ontario)
January
- Winter parking and snow-clearing reminders
- Budget and fee changes taking effect (if applicable)
- Holiday tree and recycling pickup
February
- Winter safety: salt, slippery entrances, report ice
- Social committee events
March
- Daylight saving time reminder (test smoke and CO alarms)
- Spring garage cleaning dates
April
- Window cleaning schedule
- Balcony rules ahead of the warm season
May
- Pool and outdoor amenity opening dates and rules
- BBQ rules (many buildings restrict or prohibit them; show yours)
June
- AGM notice and reminder (if your AGM falls here), with date, time and how to attend
- Move season begins: move rules and booking process
July and August
- Pool rules and hours
- Heat advisories and cooling-room information if your building offers one
- Peak move season reminders
September
- Back-to-school and quiet-hours reminders
- Fall garage cleaning dates
October
- Furnace or fan-coil filter change schedules
- Halloween guidelines for the building
November
- Daylight saving time ends (test alarms)
- Winter parking rules
- Holiday parcel volume and parcel room guidance
December
- Holiday office hours
- Garbage and recycling schedule changes
- Fire safety for decorations
Weekly rhythm
- Monday morning: check for anything expiring this week and anything starting next week
- Daily: today's elevator bookings (if you use them) and any urgent items
- Monthly: retire stale slides and refresh the evergreen rotation
Let the screen remind you
Most signage systems can schedule content months ahead. Spend an hour at the start of each quarter loading the recurring items, and the screens largely run themselves.
