Move-In and Move-Out Scheduling on Condo Screens
Using lobby and elevator screens to show elevator bookings, loading-dock times and move rules, so moves stop colliding and residents know what to expect.
Moves are one of the most common sources of friction in a condo: residents waiting for an elevator that's on service for a move, two movers showing up for the same time slot, unpadded elevators, blocked loading docks. Building screens can take a lot of that friction out.
What to show
Today's bookings
A simple "Today in the service elevator" slide:
Service elevator today 9:00–12:00 · Move-in 1:00–4:00 · Move-out Passenger elevators operating normally
Residents who see this in the morning know to expect a slower elevator, instead of discovering it while running late.
The move rules
Rotate a short version of the building's move rules, especially during busy months:
- Moves by booking only, during permitted hours
- Elevator pads must be installed before moving begins
- Loading dock use limited to the booked window
- Deposit and inspection requirements
Keep each rule on its own slide in plain language.
How to book
A slide with the booking process ("Book at the management office or by email at least 72 hours ahead") saves the front desk from answering the same question all day.
Where to show it
- Elevator landings on the ground floor and parking levels, where residents decide which elevator to wait for
- The lobby screen, for visitors and movers arriving
- The loading dock or service entrance, if there's a screen there
Peak season
Moves cluster at the end and start of each month, and in the summer. Schedule move-rule reminders to appear in the last week of each month, rather than all the time.
Keep personal information off the screen
Show times and the type of booking, never unit numbers or resident names. A booking calendar is useful; publishing who is moving out of which suite is not.
Make it low-effort for staff
If your booking calendar lives in a spreadsheet or a building management platform, the simplest workflow is a daily "Today's bookings" slide that the concierge or administrator updates each morning in a minute or two.
