Amenity Room Screens: Bookings, Rules and Class Schedules
Using screens at the gym, party room, pool and lounge to show booking status, house rules and schedules at the point of use, so rules get followed without reminders.
Amenity rules are usually posted on a laminated sheet by the door, faded and ignored. A screen at the entrance to the gym, party room or pool puts the rules, hours and bookings in front of people at exactly the moment they matter.
What to show at each amenity
Fitness centre
- Hours
- Key rules (wipe equipment, no glass bottles, guests policy)
- Class schedules if the building hosts instructors
- Maintenance notices ("Treadmill 2 out of service, repair scheduled Thursday")
Party room
- Today's booking status: "Booked 6–11 PM" or "Available"
- Booking process and rules
- Noise and end-time reminders
Pool and hot tub
- Hours and lifeguard or supervision rules if applicable
- Maximum occupancy
- Water quality or temperature notices
- Seasonal closure dates
Guest suites, theatre, games room
- Booking status and how to book
- Rules specific to the room
Rules at the point of use
A rule shown at the door of the gym is more effective than the same rule in a binder or an email. It also gives management a consistent, visible reminder to point to when an issue comes up.
Bookings
If the building uses a booking system, the simplest approach is a daily status slide updated by staff. Some buildings link booking calendars to the signage, which removes the daily update but adds setup complexity.
Instructors and classes
Many buildings host fitness or yoga instructors who pay to use amenity space. A screen at the amenity, and an ad slot on the elevator screens, helps fill those classes, and may be part of the building's advertising revenue. See how condo corporations can sell advertising.
Screen choice
Amenity screens are often landscape, 24"–43", and can be surface-mounted where the space isn't a corridor. Near pools and showers, choose locations and equipment suited to humidity. See choosing screen size.
